SE Auburn-Black Diamond Road

This small country farmhouse with a Spanish flair got our attention. The house was originally built in the 60s and had seen some updates throughout the years but the flow was off. The right arch on the front of the house frames the old garage space. Inside the house the old garage space was finished and being used as a family room. However, when the garage was converted the floor was kept at the original level so it was about 2 feet below the floor level of the rest of the house. In order to facilitate better flow and use of the space we framed in a raised floor in the family room to match the rest of the house and then converted it to a master suite including a full bath. We opened up a wide entryway in one of the bedrooms off of the living space so it could be used as flex space for kids or as an office but still have sight lines to the main living area. The living space seemed to double in size with that easy solution. We also took down a wall between the kitchen and living space to open the flow of this cozy house. The property already had a detached two car garage with shop and RV parking which is a must in this area. Updated 4/2 1350 sf Original 3/1 1350 sf |
