West Lake Sammamish Pkwy Northeast
Redmond, WA
This beautiful home site is a good example of redevelopment for best use. The house that sat on the site was built in 1977 and functioned fine. It was in great condition just a little dated and a little small. On a different lot it would have been a cosmetic fixer. This lot, however, sits just above Lake Sammamish and had potential for commanding views of the lake from every floor. The best use of the site was to tear down the house and rebuild. However, this lot is long and narrow with non conforming setbacks so a complete tear down was not possible. The city allowed a complete renovation as long as the original footprint was not altered and the basement walls were left intact. Thoughtful design and careful construction led to a beautiful new 3 story, 4500 sf 4 bedroom 5 bath home. The home now takes full advantage of the views from every floor and the larger high end home makes the best use of the property. (after photos coming soon)
